Woodlands Cottages & Camping offers affordable and pet-friendly self-catering accommodation nestled just outside Kenton-on-Sea, less than 2km from the Kenton crossroads. Situated midway between Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) and East London, this property is an ideal base for exploring the Sunshine Coast’s unspoilt beaches, estuaries, and rivers. With a variety of layouts in eight free-standing cottages and three rooms within the main house, Woodlands can accommodate up to 50 people, making it perfect for families or large groups seeking privacy and comfort. Each cottage is tucked away in a lush indigenous garden with access to its own unique boma bath, adding an extra touch of romance and relaxation.

Rooms & Features

  • Boma Cottage: This 2-sleeper cottage features a king bed that can be split into two single beds upon request. It includes a fully-equipped kitchenette and a bathroom with a shower and a rustic outside boma bath.
  • Bush Cottage: Similar to Boma, this 2-sleeper cottage offers a king bed that can also be converted into two singles if needed. The unit comes with its own fully-equipped kitchenette and an en-suite bathroom featuring a shower and a rustic outdoor boma bath.
  • Hide-Away Cottage: Designed for families, Hide-Away accommodates up to 2 adults and 2 kids. It features one combined kitchen/lounge/diner area with a king bed that can be split into two singles, plus a living space with a bunk bed.
  • Loerie Cottage: This cottage is equipped with a queen bed, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, and a seating area. It also includes a private outdoor braai and an outside boma bath, along with USB charging lamps in the bedrooms.
  • Hornbill Cottage: Featuring two en-suite bedrooms, Hornbill can sleep up to 5 people. Room 1 has a king bed that can be split into singles, while Room 2 offers three bunk beds. The cottage includes a large kitchenette and an open plan lounge with outdoor braai facilities.
  • Mambele Cottage: Ideal for families, this cottage sleeps up to 5 people in two en-suite bedrooms with showers. It comes equipped with a fully-equipped kitchen with gas stove and hob, a lounge area, deck space, and an outside braai area.
  • Ngwenya Cottage: This small cottage features a king bed that can be split into singles upon request, along with an en-suite bathroom with a shower. Guests have access to the shared fully-equipped kitchen in the main house.
  • The Potters House: With two separate en-suite rooms, this brick-built unit sleeps up to 10 people. The first room has a double bed and two bunk beds, while the second includes a double bed, two single beds, and a bunk bed. It features a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, and gas hob.
  • Family Room 1: Accommodating up to 6 people, Family Room 1 contains 2 bunk beds and 2 single beds. Guests have access to a shared bathroom in the guesthouse and a fully-equipped communal kitchen in the main house.
  • Family Room 2: Ideal for families of 2 adults and 4 kids, this room features a king bed and two bunk beds with an en-suite bathroom. It benefits from its own entrance onto a small patio offering views towards the sea.
  • Family Room 3: Suitable for 2 adults and 2 kids, Family Room 3 includes a king bed and a bunk bed with an en-suite bathroom featuring a toilet, shower, and bath. Guests have access to a fully-equipped communal kitchen in the main house.
  • Bush Camping: The rustic bush camping area offers up to 6 pitches with shared ablution facilities including a toilet, shower, and washing-up facilities. No electric hookups are available but there is a plug for small devices in the campsite kitchen.
