Chicken Kiev is a classic dish made in Russian cuisine and is often misunderstood as chicken cutlet, which is no way a truth. This is a mouth-watering dish that you can prepare for your loved ones in a party or get-together. This dish is prepared by pounding or flattening the chicken breast and then coating thrice and afterwards deep fried. It can also be made in a healthier way by cooking in an air fryer. All you need to cook this mouth-watering snack recipe is: chicken breasts, mixed herbs, eggs, butter, breadcrumbs, all purpose flour, crushed garlic and garlic powder. 2 chicken breasts
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
salt as required
1/2 teaspoon lime zest
2 pinches garlic powder
1 egg
1 1/2 cup refined oil
1/4 cup mixed herbs
1/2 tablespoon paprika powder
water as required
To prepare this delicious chicken recipe, peel the garlic cloves and crush them in a small bowl. Next, take a bowl and mix together mixed herbs (keep aside a little), butter, crushed garlic, black pepper and garlic powder.
Then, wash and pat dry the chicken breasts and then tenderize the meat. Once done, keep aside the uniform meat in a bowl.
Now, take one chicken breast and dip in the butter mixture and make into a roll. You can also seal all the edges using a toothpick. Put it aside in a tray and then repeat the procedure to seal the other breast.
Afterwards, crack open the eggs in a bowl and add water in it, beat them well. Now, take a bowl and mix together paprika powder, garlic powder with breadcrumbs, mixed herbs (about 1 teaspoon), black pepper powder, and salt. Keep it aside as well.
Finally, take one chicken breast and coat it with all purpose flour and then the egg mixture. Afterwards, coat in the breadcrumbs mixture. Repeat with the other chicken breast and them chill in refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Once done, take them out and put a wok over medium flame and heat oil in it. When the oil is hot enough, add the chicken piece in it and deep fry for 3-5 minutes or until it is golden brown in colour. Take them out when done and serve hot with lemon wedges and tomato ketchup.
