In commemoration of Black August, bassist and cultural practitioner Zwide Ndwandwe shares a special performance of his debut solo offering, radicis. radicis is a sonic lecture, focusing on the historical context and everlasting urgency of Black music. Influenced by the sounds and politics of musicians like Archie Shepp, D Angelo and Busi Mhlongo, radicis argues that Black music is a phenomenon beyond genre, remaining crucial to the tradition of resistance for people in the African diaspora.
