WATER IS HOME | VIRTUAL PANEL CONVERSATION

Before our first breath of air, we are held in water.

Water is Home is a gathering by Octoberlily Wellness, hosted by Boitumelo Mnisi, exploring our relationship with water as part of our beginnings, our bodies, our histories and our sense of belonging. Through movement, shared reflection, art and conversation, the gathering considers what water holds for us personally and collectively, including the ways memory, ancestry, culture, access and lived experience shape how we relate to it.

For those who are unable to attend the in-person gathering, this virtual offering provides an opportunity to join the panel conversation online and be part of the exchange of perspectives and experiences.

Our panelists bring different bodies of knowledge and lived experience to the conversation, exploring water through the lenses of birth, ancestral wisdom, identity, embodiment, access and belonging. Together, we will reflect on what it means to feel at home in water, and how our relationships with it are shaped by the worlds we inherit and inhabit.
