The Box Tie is the classic, arms-behind-the-back tie that is the staple of Japanese-inspired rope bondage.
Come to learn about the basics of the fundamental Takate Kote or 'TK'.
Sometimes also called Gote or box-tie, this tie is beautiful, elegant and minimalist, but the simple design betrays the technical details required to tie it well.
We will explore the most important considerations for tying this properly for use as a simple restraint for rope play. After this class you will have a greater understanding about how to approach this type of tie, how to adapt to your partner's body, important safety notes and also when not to use it.
This class is beginner friendly, although some knowledge of single column ties will be useful. Experienced practitioners are warmly invited to come hang out, practice and share some skills.
Please note that this is not a proper instructional class on tying box ties for suspension or partial suspension. Please see our program for dedicated workshops on this topic later in the year.
