Why It Matters

Our first Kenton Rhino Run took place on 17 September 2013, with 513 finishers rallying behind rhino conservation a tradition our town and visitors have proudly grown ever since.

The Kenton Rhino Run is inspired by Thandi, Kariega Game Reserve's courageous poaching survivor, whose story continues to galvanise support for rhino conservation around the world.

Your entry helps fund CRF's on-the-ground conservation impact, including support for rangers, K9 anti-poaching units, monitoring technology and other interventions that help keep our rhinos safer.

More Than a Run

What began in 2013 as a community run in support of rhino conservation has evolved into Kenton Rhino Rising A Kenton Weekend for Conservation.

While the Kenton Rhino Run remains at the heart of the weekend, Kenton Rhino Rising now brings together a range of activities that celebrate conservation, community and the remarkable landscapes of the Sunshine Coast.

Across the weekend, participants can enjoy:

18 km Run | 12 km Run | 5 km Fun Run / Walk

Two River Swims with Awehness

Three Community and Endurance Cycle Rides with Amariders

Padel with Volo and Drone display

A Conservation Workshop with Dr William Fowlds, Lindy Sutherland and Peter Chadwick

A Campfire Conversation with Esethu Mnebelele

A special screening of The Last Ranger

The Ballies Jol and other community events

Whether you're a runner, cyclist, swimmer, conservation supporter or simply looking for a great Kenton weekend, there's something for everyone.

Join us for a weekend where conservation comes alive through adventure, learning, community and action.
