Hosana Is Man Enough to Care

Hosana Is Man Enough to Care returns to the community where its story began for a special fundraising screening in support of Ezibeleni OVCH and the Men Championing Change programme.

Created through the Digital Storytelling for Social Change minor at Stenden South Africa, the short documentary follows Hosana Nkontso, a father, mentor and community champion from Nemato, Port Alfred.

This evening, however, is about much more than simply watching the film.

Guests will experience the wider journey behind the documentary, from the Men Championing Change programme and the work of Ezibeleni, through to Hosana s story, the making of the film, and some of the people, relationships and moments in between that were never seen on screen.

The evening will bring together the Department of Social Development, Ezibeleni OVCH, Stenden South Africa, the people behind the documentary and members of the wider community.

At the heart of the evening is a simple question:

What does it mean to be man enough to care?

It is a conversation about fatherhood, identity, positive masculinity, mentorship, care and the kind of legacy we leave for the next generation.

Why this event?

The screening is being held at Titi Jonas Community Hall in Nemato because this is Hosana s community and an important part of the story itself.

The purpose of the evening is to bring the story back into the community, create greater awareness of the Men Championing Change programme and raise funds and support for Ezibeleni OVCH.

Your ticket is therefore more than entry to a documentary screening. It is an opportunity to support the organisation and the community behind the story.

Parking & security

Parking will be available behind the venue gates, and a designated person will be on duty to keep an eye on vehicles during the event.

Guests will be directed to the appropriate parking area on arrival.

For peace of mind, please ensure that valuables are not left visible inside vehicles.

Food & refreshments

Light canap s and non-alcoholic refreshments will be served during the evening.

Please note that this is not a dinner event. The catering is intended as a light accompaniment to the programme, allowing the focus to remain on the documentary, the people behind the story and the purpose of the fundraiser.
