COSTA s CORNER KEFI Stand-Up Comedy Show

SA Comics Choice Award winning, comedian Costa Carastavrakis presents his new

show Costa s Corner Kefi ; a stand-up South African Greek comedy feast about a

Joburg guy navigating his crazy Greek culture in our beautiful South Africa. The

show is written and performed by Costa Carastavrakis and directed by Renos

Spanoudes. The show was recently nominated for a Naledi Award 2025; Best Solo

Comedy Performance.

After the success of his first show Desperately Seeking Souvlaki which toured 6

countries and12 cities including Sydney, Melbourne, Athens and Austin, Costa was

ready to take things to the next level with a new show. Comprising of 100% new

material, it is taken from his lived experience as part of the Greek South African

immigrant culture.

He realized after his first show, so many different people from various cultures

shared his experiences, and humour associated with big families, community drama

and loud bossy aunties. He developed his material around more funny moments

that literally wrote themselves as all of what he talks about is true facts from his own

life.

Costa started stand- up comedy late in life at 44, and initially studied under Stephen

Rosenfeld of the American Comedy Institute. He has performed short sets at the

prestigious Gotham Comedy Club in New York and the Laugh Factory in Los

Angeles, Joe Rogan s, The Comedy Mothership in Austin and even the Joke

Factory in Kuala Lumpur.

In 2024 he won the SA Comics Choice Award for uplifting comedic content and has

many viral videos under his name. He is also the author or I am Costa, from Meth

to Marathons published by Bookstorm.

When Costa is not doing comedy, you can find him at home polishing his award

while plotting his next overseas gig and waiting patiently for Lady Gaga to tour SA.
