BODY MOVES Inclusive Dance Festival

This November, during Disability Rights Awareness Month, Sibikwa Arts Centre invites you to experience the BODY MOVES Inclusive Dance Festival 2026, a celebration of movement, creativity and inclusion through the performing arts.

On Sunday, 29 November, from 14:00 16:00, experience the premiere of a multidisciplinary dance work choreographed by Thapelo Kotlolo, developed through Sibikwa s Inclusive Dance Training Programme, alongside performances by other artists working in the inclusive arts space.

More than a celebration of dance, BODY MOVES challenges conventional perceptions of movement and invites us to recognise artists with and without disabilities as creators, performers and innovators, while exploring how we can all contribute to a more inclusive performing arts landscape.

The BODY MOVES Festival is supported by the Department of Sports Arts and Culture, the National Arts Council of South Africa (PESP), the Gauteng Provincial Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, and the Federation of Gauteng Community Arts.
