About the presenter:

Japie Swanepoel has been involved in online media since 2000. He has authored and co-authored 5 books on online marketing and worked with many national clients in South Africa and Namibia.

Since 2024 he has hosted numerous AI workshops in South Africa and in Namibia.

In an effort to ensure that its members remain abreast of global trends, the Hospitality Association of Namibia held its AGM 2025 in conjunction with a workshop on Artificial Intelligence, facilitated by Mr Japie Swanepoel from Interactive Concepts.

The Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Namibia herewith confirms that Mr Japie Swanepoel provided a full-day training on Artificial Intelligence to the Delegation staff. The training was very interesting for all staff and provided skills and tools for the implementation of AI in daily work.

Die AI-werkswinkel wat deur Japie Swanepoel aangebied is, was uiters insiggewend. Dit het nie net waardevolle blootstelling gebied aan 'n groot verskeidenheid AI-platforms en toepassings nie, maar ook gewys wat 'n mens prakties daarmee kan vermag.

Die werkswinkel het ons kennis aansienlik verbreed en ge nspireer deur die vele moontlikhede te demonstreer om AI te gebruik om werk meer doeltreffend, akkuraat en vinniger te verrig. Dit het ons terselfdertyd ook bewus gemaak van die potensi le risiko's en die verantwoordelike gebruik van AI.

Ek kan hierdie werkswinkel met oortuiging aanbeveel vir enige bestuurspan n personeel van 'n maatskappy. Net soos die oorgang van handsentrales na landlyne, en later na selfone, is AI 'n tegnologiese ontwikkeling wat besig is om die manier waarop ons werk, ingrypend te verander. Of 'n mens dit wil gebruik of nie, dit is belangrik om te verstaan wat hierdie tegnologie kan doen en hoe dit besighede kan be nvloed.

Om ingelig te wees, is die eerste stap. Hierdie werkswinkel bied juis daardie kennis en begrip, en stel organisasies in staat om ingeligte besluite te neem oor hoe AI op 'n verantwoordelike en waardevolle manier in hul werksomgewing aangewend kan word.
