Hercus Healing Centre in Fishoek hosts another Sunday Retreat with Dave Reynolds & Bongani Sotshononda. (Sunday 8th Nov event here: )
We begin at 09h45 with a simple yoga class (all levels, no prior experience necessary), which flows straight into an African Sound Journey, a state of deep relaxation (known as yoganidra in Sanskrit) where we withdraw from the chattering mind and into the pureness of consciousness.
After a tea break (Hercus Healing has a coffee shop attached), we are treated to a performance by world-renowned artists Dave Reynolds & Bongani Sotshononda playing tunes from their latest albums.
Dave Reynolds is South Africa's premier steelpan player, a Paraguyuan harpist and ten-string guitarist. He has performed and recorded all over the world with Hugh Masekela, Steve Newman, Andy Narell, Tony Cox, Paul Hanmer, the late Gito Baloi (of Tananas) and Pops Mohamed, to name a few. His most recent release, SANDANCE is the soundtrack to the documentary about the rituals and dances of the San People of the Kalahari and garnered 11 international awards. It's also the last album recorded with Pops Mohamed before his death.
Bongani Sotshononda is South Africa's most cherished vibraphonist and jazz marimba player. He spends most of his time performing in Europe and the Indian Ocean with a huge following in Madagascar, Reunion, Zanzibar and Mauritius.
For this special event to happen, we need a minimum of 8 to "pledge". Thereafter, general tickets will be available (at a higher price), so please let anyone who may be interested know about this offer.
